Lefkada (or Lefkas) is an island in the Ionian Sea on the west coast of Greece, connected to the mainland by a long causeway. Lefkada is famous for its long sand beaches, the forested mountains and the several idyllic bays and little islands nearby. Sivota bay is situated 30 km south of the city of Lefkada and 50 km from Aktio airport.
Sivota bay is a lush green area that charms the visitor by the first glimpse. The bay has always been a safe natural anchorage for fishings boats and nowadays is very popular with yachts. When the small marina is full the yachts moor “arodo” (means off-shore) creating a magnificent scenery.
Sivota fishing village has all the amenities for relaxed self-catering holidays. There are several tavernas and cafes, a supermarket, a pebbly beach, great nature to explore, sailing trips etc. All together can keep the visitor busy for several days and a car hire is not essential.

At the west side of the island there is a string of breathtaking beaches with turqoise blue water and white sand. Porto Katsiki with its unique rock formations, isolated Egremni, Kathisma with the unreal blue water and picturesque Agios Nikitas will never dissapoint the visitor. A new road is linking the south with the west side of the island making these beaches easily accessible from Sivota.
Vassiliki, a paradise for wind/kite surfing enthusiasts, is only 10 km from Sivota. The thermal winds are present every afternoon during the summer and a series of well organized clubs will satisfy every level.
Sailing/Boating
The idyllic bays of Lefkada, the little islands of Meganisi, Scorpios, Kalamos and Madouri along with the larger ones like Ithaki and Kefalonia are the perfect sailing waters. Sivota with its small marina and the boat slip is the best place for combining sailing or boating and staying in a seaside villa.
